Tasmania's greyhound racing industry has reported the deaths of 16 dogs, some by unknown means, in the first six months of 2016.

As part of a call to outlaw greyhound racing, state Greens MP Andrea Dawkins tabled in parliament on Wednesday the list of dogs including their racing name, age, trainer, career prize money and means of death.

"This is a shameful list of dogs who all died before the age of four years. Their deaths were in the name of entertainment and an excuse to gamble," Ms Dawkins said, citing the demise of hounds such as three-year-old Wee Fire who won $34,650 and for whom there is no record of how she died.
