Tasmania's export trade has grown more than 12 per cent over the past financial year with China remaining the No.1 destination.

For the 12 months to the end of June the Island State's nominal value of exports was $2.85 billion which is up by 12.3 per cent, Treasurer Peter Gutwein said on Friday citing ABS figures.

"Exports of non-ferrous metals and seafood were the primary driver of this increase," he said in relation to growing exports to China.
