Teen dead in South Coast crash

A teenage driver has died and two people are in hospital following a head-on collision on NSW's South Coast.

The 17-year-old boy died after being airlifted to hospital after his car collided with another on the Prince Highway south of Nowra on Saturday afternoon .

The 58-year-old male driver of the other car was also airlifted to hospital and is in a serious but stable condition while his 56-year-old female passenger is in a stable condition.

It's the fourth fatal crash this weekend, after a car smashed into a tree in Sydney's west on Sunday morning.

Police say the car burst into flames when it reportedly crashed into the tree on Badgerys Creek Road in Bringelly.

Investigators are working to identify the body found inside the vehicle, police said.
