The man, who was on parole for other matters, was arrested on the West Gate Bridge during peak hour.

He wore an oversized grey jumper and showed no emotion during a hearing at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

The teen, who was not required to speak, was remanded in custody to appear at the court again on February 7, via videolink.

Magistrate Simon Zebrowski said the teen would be "vulnerable" in custody "due to age and appearance".
