Terminator Genisys might not have killed the Terminator movie series after all...

Now this is something of a surprise, if indeed it turns out to be true. Whilst last year’s Terminator Genisys made decent money around the world, with its box office takings coming in at $440m, it took a savaging at the hands of critics (and it also cost a small fortune to make and release). Not just critics, either, with large sections of its audience seemingly unimpressed with the film that was set to start a new trilogy of Terminator movies.

Plans for that trilogy looked in doubt fairly quickly, especially when Paramount took the release date for Terminator Genisys 2 off its schedules. And yet, in a new interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger, the lead Terminator himself has insisted that the project is still live.

He wasn’t giving details away, but chatting to Channel 9 in Australia, Schwarzenegger has insisted that Terminator 6 is still happening, saying “I am looking forward to it, absolutely”.

Paramount certainly hasn’t announced a new film, and all has been quiet on the Terminator front for some time now. Will the Genisys trilogy be completed? Time will tell…
