Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella are set to be joined by Russell Crowe in The Mummy...

Universal’s big budget reboot of The Mummy continues to add box office firepower to its cast. Along with Sofia Boutella in the title role, the film already has Tom Cruise on board. And now we learn that Russell Crowe is being recruited to play Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

And then, after that, he’d be spun out into his own movie series.

Universal is planning at least one classic monster movie a year.

The Mummy is currently filming in the UK, with Alex Kurtzman directing. The film is due in cinemas on June 9th 2017.
