The Worst Romantic Comedies of All Time

Love is what life is all about, and movies about matters of the heart have a way of drawing us in like no other. Whether they aim to make us laugh or to make us cry (though usually, it’s both), romantic comedies like "When Harry Met Sally...," "Love Actually" and "The Apartment" have given us some of the most poignant insights into love in movie history. Those rom-coms somehow strike that perfect balance of nuanced character and timely themes — and when we leave the theater, we leave with the feeling that our soul mate is just around the corner.

Other romantic comedies fall short of inspiring. PrettyFamous, an entertainment data site by Graphiq, ranked the bottom-of-the-barrel rom-coms for your viewing dis-pleasure. Whether they’re so bad they’re good or just un-watchably bad, this list plumbs the depths of the genre for gems that suffer from a mixture of bad-casting, lack of believability, poorly developed characters, flat jokes and worse.

And just to give you a taste of what you’re in for, this list includes everything from the remake of "Bewitched," starring Nicole Kidman, to the legendary "From Justin to Kelly."

To qualify, movies had to have at least 25,000 IMDb votes. Movies were then ranked based on their Smart Rating. This is a score out of 100 that takes into account a movie’s Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer and Audience Score, IMDb rating, Metacritic Metascore, Gracenote rating and the domestic inflation-adjusted box office gross. The movies are ranked from highest to lowest Smart Rating, with the best rom-com taking the number one spot.
