'They need to be FIRED!' EastEnders viewers livid as BBC delay Snapchat alternative ending to Ronnie and Roxy's exit

The popular programme had teased the content all night but it was too much for fans.

Some even called for a member of the BBC team to be fired.

Despite the delay, the soap was praised on as the Mitchell sisters met a watery end.

It was an emotional ending to the New Year's Day episode as viewers said goodbye to Samathan Womack and Rita Simon's characters.

As fans watched 'an end of a era', one said: "Well that was amazing, felt like I was watching a movie I was glued to the telly"

EastEnders viewers fans were left in shock when Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell drowned in a dramatic watery finale that ended an explosive New Year's Day episode.

The night concluded with Roxy jumping into a swimming pool, with Ronnie close behind her.

Neither made it out alive.

Viewers have known that the siblings were set to leave the programme for a while, and as fans witnessed the end of an era, it didn't make for easy viewing.

It was reported that their exit would be "grisly" and in the latest spoiler Aunt Sal and Honey referencing the infamous 1991 classic Thelma and Louise.
