Threat weakens in WA bushfire

A bushfire burning north-east of Perth has been brought under control but has yet to be contained.

A watch and act alert has been downgraded to an advice for the northern part of Burlong in the Shire of Northam, and there is no longer an immediate danger to lives or homes.

The blaze is moving slowly in a northerly direction and there is still a lot of smoke in the area, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services warns.
