Tiahleigh Palmer's foster father has been taken to hospital after being charged with the 12-year-old schoolgirl's murder.

A Queensland Police spokesman confirmed a 56-year-old man was taken to hospital for a non-life-threatening condition on Tuesday.

He has not sustained any injuries.

The man was due to face the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday after being charged with Tiahleigh's murder and interfering with her corpse.

Tiahleigh was last seen alive on October 30 when she was dropped off at Marsden State High School, south of Brisbane.

A missing person alert was only issued six days later, hours before her body was found by three fishermen on the banks of the Pimpama River.

A 19-year-old man has also been charged with incest, perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice over her death.

The older man's wife, 54, and a 20-year-old male relative are in custody and assisting police with their investigation.
