Two charged over Gold Coast shooting

Two men have been charged over an attack on a man who checked himself into a Gold Coast hospital with a gunshot wound to his face.

The shooting took place at an Ashmore residence early on Saturday morning, with the injured man presenting himself at the hospital at about 4am after being driven there.

On Saturday afternoon police arrested a 21-year-old man and on Saturday evening a 22-year-old man handed himself in at Southport police station.

Both men have been charged with one count each of entering a dwelling with intent, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and robbery.

The weapon allegedly involved has been seized by police.

Both men are to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
