A man and a woman were tracked down by a police dog and charged after allegedly threatening a taxi driver with a pair of scissors during a carjacking on the NSW south coast.

Police say the man, 30, and woman, 34, stole a taxi after demanding the 37-year-old driver stop on Pleasant Way in Nowra at 6.30pm on Friday.

They have each been charged with numerous offences including robbery and aggravated assault, and have been refused bail ahead of fronting Nowra Local Court on Saturday.
