A body of a man has been discovered in a Melbourne flat, with police interviewing two men over the incident.

The body was discovered at an address on Ormond Street, Kensington about 8.30am on Thursday, police say.

Paramedics were called to the scene at that time with reports of a man in cardiac arrest, an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman told AAP.

News footage shows forensic investigators entering the apartment complex carrying ladders.

What looked like a body covered with a blue sheet was wheeled out of the complex.

Two men, one aged 51 and the other 57, are being interviewed by homicide squad detectives.

No one has been charged yet.

The cause of the death still being investigated, and police will await the results of a post-mortem examination.
