Two NSW men charged with grooming children

NSW police have charged two men with grooming offences following covert, online investigations into child exploitation.

Police will allege in court a 51-year-old man believed he was speaking to a 13-year-old girl when he made numerous sexually explicit comments to the child and sent indecent photos and video.

On Tuesday morning, officers raided a home in New Lambton in Newcastle, where they seized electronic items, a firearm and cannabis.

A 51-year-old man was arrested, charged and granted bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court on Thursday, October 27.

The second investigation began in July when officers began engaging online with a 59-year-old man .

Police will allege he believed he was speaking to a 14-year-old girl, made numerous sexually explicit comments to the child and sent indecent photos.

Officers arrested the man at an address in Caves Beach and he was bailed to appear at Belmont Local Court on Wednesday November 2.

Police have urged parents and children to be mindful of the dangers associated with the internet.
