Two Queensland police officers have been charged over a Gold Coast car chase.

A 50-year-old male senior constable faces both the charge of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and another of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court next month.

A 48-year-old male senior sergeant will face the same court next week after being charged with two counts of the dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Both officers were currently suspended, police said.

The car chase unfolded at Pacific Pines on the Gold Coast.

"In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct," police said in a statement.

"This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated."
