Two teenagers have been charged over a wild chase in an allegedly stolen car in which they hit a police car and a locked gate in Sydney's southeast.

Officers began pursuing the teenagers, aged 13 to 18, about 2.30am in La Perouse on Sunday after they were spotted in a car reported stolen less than two hours before, police said.

The teens allegedly drove into the Botany Bay National Park where they crashed into a locked gate and a stationary police car before coming to a stop in Coward Street.

The driver of the car, an 18-year-old man was charged with a string of offences, including driving a stolen car, unlicensed driving and breaching bail.

A 13-year-old boy was charged with being a passenger in a stolen car and two other teens were issued with cautions.
