Uber to bring a dinosaur to Adelaide users

First it drove you places, then it started delivering food, and now Uber is serving up two-metre tall dinosaurs.

Uber users in Adelaide will be able to request a ride in a car towing a massive dinosaur figure between 10am and 2pm on Saturday.

The initiative is aimed at promoting Adelaide Zoo's Dinosaurs Alive exhibit which lets visitors get a taste of prehistoric life by walking among seven life-like animatronic dinosaurs.

The limited number of people who are successful in ordering an uberSAURUS-X will score a free ride to the Adelaide Zoo and tickets to see the exhibit for themselves and up to three mates.

Adelaide Zoo's "dino keeper" Nic Bishop says it is an innovative way to encourage people to learn about dinosaurs and to promote the zoo's conservation efforts.

"We're working to save their modern-day ancestors from going the way of the dinosaurs and this is a fun way to stomp that message throughout suburban Adelaide," he said.
