Vic man clocked 100km over speed limit

A man wanted for attempted armed robberies has been nabbed driving 100km/h over the speed limit in Melbourne.

The Boronia man, 26, was tracked speeding in Derrimut, continuing on freeways until the car was dumped in Ferntree Gully after 12:30am on Wednesday, police say. The man fled on foot.

The car was allegedly stolen.

Police arrested the man and found drugs believed to be GHB and 30 grams of methamphetamine on him.

He has been charged with drug and traffic offences, theft of motor vehicle and conduct endangering life.

He is scheduled to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
