The Voice creator Mark Burnett is thrilled about the hit show's judges Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton's relationship.

Burnett cooed about the celebrity couple backstage at the Emmys, after The Voice won its second Emmy as best reality-competition series.

"I had no idea that coming to work on a fun music show, they would find the loves of their lives," Burnett said, grinning. "The life exploded. They are happier than you can imagine.  And we are thrilled to be their friends and see the happiness."

Burnett said the judges, both coming off divorces, found each other. Stefani had split with her husband of 13 years, Gavin Rossdale, while Shelton was divorced from Miranda Lambert.

"People go through peaks and valleys. They have had some dark times in their lives," Burnett said. "There's always going to be lights ahead on the journey. In the case of Blake and Gwen, there were some dark times emotionally in their relationships."

When asked if Burnett would officiate a potential Voice wedding, he laughed.

"I really, really hope I get invited to the wedding," said Burnett, who joked it would actually be the wedding of Shelton and fellow judge Adam Levine.
