WA learner charged with passenger death

A 20-year-old learner driver has been charged with the death of her passenger after their car rolled down a river embankment near Northampton in Western Australia's remote Mid West.

The victim, a 27-year-old man who was sitting in the front passenger seat, died at the scene of the crash that occurred in the early hours of January 27.

The Sunset Beach woman, who received serious injuries in the crash, has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and unauthorised driving by a learner and is due to appear before the Geraldton Magistrates Court on August 31.
