Police believe a man seen on security footage at a Perth shopping centre can help them in their investigation of a stabbing attack at a bus stop that killed 43-year-old Ian Michael Baz Bosch.

Father-of-two Baz Bosch died in hospital after being stabbed in the neck at a bus stop in Coolbellup at 7.30am on November 19.

Detective Senior Sergeant Tom Mills says the man in the CCTV footage was in the area shortly before Mr Baz Bosch was attacked.

"We must emphasise that we do not believe this man had any involvement in Ian's death, but he may have seen or heard something that would assist our investigation," he said.

The man, described as being between 170cm and 175cm tall, wearing dark pants, dark jacket, chequered shirt and a black beanie, is seen in the footage walking through Coolbellup shopping centre.

In November, police released CCTV footage of the 200cm tall Mr Baz Bosch sitting at the bus stop before another man, believed to be his attacker, also approached the stop.

Police do not know yet if the two men knew each other.

After being attacked, Mr Baz Bosch stumbled to nearby Coolbellup shopping centre, where bystanders called an ambulance.

Police say the victim caught a bus from his home to Coolbellup shopping centre earlier in the morning but it was unknown what he did for seven to eight minutes before going to another bus stop where he was attacked.
