A woman has pleaded not guilty to murdering her 76-year-old mother and interfering with the corpse.

Helen Levina, 55, who is alleged to have killed Ella Victoria Hromaya in February, appeared in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The victim's 21-year-old granddaughter, who lived at the South Guildford house with her mother and grandmother, discovered the body after she noticed a smell and found a skull in the back yard.
