A flood warning has been issued for the NSW central west with heavy rainfalls expected on Sunday.

The widespread rain is set to cause minor to moderate flooding on the Belubula River at Canowindra and Mandagery Creek at Eugowra, NSW State Emergency Services say.

Further warnings have been extended to Macintyre, Peel, Gwydir, Namoi, Bogan, Macquarie, Lachlan, Murrumbidgee and Murray rivers.

Farmers and landholders are being asked to move pumps, farm equipment, livestock and chemicals from low lying areas to higher ground.

People living or working along rivers and streams are advised to monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings and be prepared to move to higher ground.
