A woman who stabbed a wheelchair-bound woman in the neck with scissors during an argument at a shopping centre on NSW's south coast has had an attempted murder charge withdrawn.

Samantha Perry, 27, will be sentenced next month on a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after she allegedly stabbed the 42-year-old woman at Bega, leaving the woman in a serious condition.

Perry confronted her victim in an elevator before getting scissors out of her car and then attacking the woman in a shop before fleeing the scene, police have alleged.

Perry had faced an attempted murder charged but it was withdrawn at Bega Local Court on Tuesday.

She is due to appear via video link from custody at the Bega District Court on August 8.
