The TV mogul admitted the two-year-old is not too impressed with his performances as a judge on shows such as Britain’s Got Talent.

The 56-year-old revealed: “He said, ‘You press buzzers’. I told Eric there’s a little bit more to my job than pushing buzzers, but okay.”

He is already looking upon the toddler as his apprentice, taking him to shows.

Simon said: “I am bringing him down basically to say in a few years time you hopefully are gonna be doing what Daddy does ... to get him used to it.”

But Eric has been driving him up the wall with the children’s cartoon Dora The Explorer.

Eric is a chatterbox now, but Simon was concerned about him last year.

He said: “The first seven or eight months after he was born, when he wasn’t talking at all, I said to (Eric’s mom) Lauren (Silverman), ‘I don’t think he likes me very much’.”

“And she said ‘wait another few months.’ Then suddenly, when he started to talk and he understood who I was and we began to communicate, it was amazing. He is amazing.”

However asked if he wanted a brother or sister for his little lad, he joked: “I’ll never say never!”
