Peth Wildcats skipper Damian Martin is set to miss up to three months of the NBL season after suffering a tear in his left knee.

Martin is expected to miss between 10-12 weeks after tearing the medial collateral ligament during Saturday night's win over Adelaide in Perth.

It was his first match back since undergoing surgery to fix his broken jaw.

Martin won't undergo surgery on his knee, with club medical staff opting to rehabilitate the joint instead.

Wildcats staff have begun looking at injury replacement options.

Martin's injury is a huge blow to Perth, who are still without fellow guard Jarrod Kenny (groin).

The Wildcats were also forced to deal with the shock exit of import Andre Ingram last month after the American decided to return home citing mental health issues.
