Two men have been charged after a woman was knocked unconscious and a good Samaritan attacked outside a Sydney fast food outlet.

The incident unfolded after an argument erupted between people at two tables at a Potts Point restaurant around 1.30am on Sunday.

The 22-year-old woman was hit with a soft drink thrown by one man and soaked with one thrown by another, it will be alleged.

Soon afterwards, one of the men approached her outside, allegedly picking her up and dropping her head-first onto the ground.

She briefly lost consciousness.

A good Samaritan walking past at the time suffered facial injuries after being punched in the face while trying to intervene, police will allege.

Two men, aged 20 and 21, have been charged with a raft of assault offences and bailed to appear in court on December 6.
