Melbourne Stars players Adam Zampa and Tom Triffitt have emerged unscathed from a sickening outfield collision during a Big Bash League warm-up match.

The pair clashed heads at Albury's Lavington Oval when attempting to catch a lofted off-drive from Sydney Thunder batsman Jay Lenton on Tuesday.

Zampa held onto the catch, but both players remained sedentary for some minutes as they received treatment before walking off the ground.

They sat out the remainder of the match nursing sore heads.

Stars medical staff have cleared leg-spinner Zampa and Triffitt, usually a wicketkeeper, of concussion.

Zampa returned for the Stars' second warm-up clash against the Thunder later in the day.
