Raccoon That Became Famous for Scaling St Paul Skyscraper Released Into Wild

A raccoon that scaled a 25-story skyscraper in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 11 and 12, becoming an internet sensation in the process, was safely released into the wild the following day, according to a pest control company.Online, the animal was dubbed the #MPRraccoon after Minneapolis Public Radio (MPR), which occupies offices in the area and reported the raccoon’s climb early on. The critter had been stuck on the side of the Town Square building for two days before escaping and climbing the neighboring UBS Plaza, according to MPR reporter Tim Nelson.The raccoon reached the roof of the UBS Plaza building in the early hours of Wednesday morning, and was captured by the Brooklyn Park-based Wildlife Management Services pest control companies.The company shared this video on Facebook showing the female raccoon run from cage into woodland, at what was said to be a private residence in the southwest suburbs of the Twin Cities.
