It looks like Gordon Ramsay is branching out from his main career as a foul-mouthed chef.

In late July, the British television star was seen filming a promo for a documentary that he's starring in about the Colombian drug trade - in London of all places. Ramsay was photographed in a bulletproof vest next to a military-style van marked "Policia" in Wimbledon Common, a park just a few miles southwest of London's city center.

ITV, the UK network behind the documentary, insists the London footage will only be used for the series trailer and that the actual documentary was filmed in Colombia earlier this year, The Telegraph reports.

There's no word yet on why the chef's new TV show is about global politics instead of food, but Radar Online shared a few rumors about why Ramsay might have been hesitant to return to Colombia. According to an unnamed source - so take this with a grain of salt - Ramsay was worried about his own safety as well as the safety of his family.

While it might just have been more convenient and cost-effective to shoot near home, Ramsay did publicly admit his concerns about filming in Colombia earlier this year.

"I've been in a safety briefing all morning for something pretty hostile - we're going into Colombia," Ramsay told the Scottish Mail on Sunday. "They're putting me under a trauma test for the sake of being shot and being kidnapped."

The two-part documentary will air sometime this fall on ITV in the UK.
