Las Vegas is home to many new restaurants. Some of the smaller ones that open with less than a shebang go unnoticed. Here's a look at some of the new smaller restaurants that opened recently all over the Las Vegas valley.

HENDERSON — VeggiEat Xpress opened a second location at 390 N. Stephanie St. (702-458-8899) in the former Cook on Wok space. Customers find the same dishes at the UNLV location. A vegan beef sandwich, veggie chicken salad, a tuna sandwich using imitation fish and pho combinations make the menu along with veggie shrimp spring rolls and potstickers. [EaterWire]

SOUTHEAST — U.S. Fried Chicken Halal (420 S. Pecos Road, 702-778-1936) brings burgers, fried chicken, gyros and Philly cheese steaks. Beef ribs, macaroni salad and potato salad make the menu at this halal restaurant that’s open from 10 a.m to 10 p.m. daily. [EaterWire]

SOUTHWESTPho Khong Ten (7320 S. Rainbow Blvd., 702-586-1965) specializes in Vietnamese food such as pho and vermicelli dishes as well as udon soups with pig feet or chicken. SOUTHEAST — 2 Scoops of Aloha LV (5030 Paradise Road, 702-998-9709) specializes in Hawaiian fare. For breakfast, bento boxes of Portuguese sausage, Spam, furikake rice and scrambled eggs reign. Customers can order tzatziki, tyrokafteri, skordalia and other spreads, pita sandwiches and salads at lunch, while dinner brings salmon with beets and greens, skewers of pork or chicken, a 12-ounce grilled rib-eye steak or grilled Colorado lamb chops. SOUTHWEST — Bourbon Street (6670 S. Tenaya Way) brings an enormous video wall playing sports and cash-only fare. A pool table, arcade games, a basketball hoop game, a football toss game,and a bunch of bar-top video slots await.

SOUTHEAST — Goldilocks Bake Shop (467 E. Silverado Ranch Blvd., 702-368-2253) sits inside Island Pacific Seafood Market serving Filipino breads, cakes, sansrival and sylvana.

CHINATOWNPho Kitchen (3650 S. Decatur Blvd., 702-998-2995) offers Vietnamese and Chinese fare such as oxtail sate, lo mein, Cantonese beef steak, orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken. The restaurant is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

SPRING VALLEY — Oodle Noodle (4449 W. Flamingo Road, 702-538-9556) now dishes fusion udon dishes. The Japanese restaurant makes its own noodles daily and uses them in dishes such as seared avocado tar tar cold bukkake udon or sukiyaki udon with tofu. For lunch, try udon and mini rice bowls specials with kake udon with fried fish cake and seaweed toppings, chicken teriyaki mini bowl and a house salad. The restaurant is open Monday and Tuesday, Thursday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m to 2:30 pm and from 5 to 9:30 p.m.

DOWNTOWN — Cuban sandwiches, roasted pork sandwiches, chicken fricassee, fried pork chunks and more make the menu at Puerto Rico Express (267 E. Wyoming Ave.). Customers can order mofongo, green plantains, empanadas, red beans and rice as well. The restaurant opens daily at 11 a.m. and stays open until 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday.

NORTH LAS VEGAS — A new street vendor, El Chino Tacos serves its namesake tacos at 1570 W. Cheyenne Ave. The owner started making tacos at home for for kids parties and then invested in a commercial grill. The roving restaurant got its start at Project Taco Festival 2016.

WESTSIDE — The 24-hour The Tavern (1113 S. Rainbow Blvd., 702-804-1113) serves pulled pork sliders, Philly cheese steak fries, barbecue pulled pork nachos and more on its appetizer menu. Wings, chicken fingers, burgers, pizza, wraps and sandwiches such as the "mammoth" meatball sub and the bacon Sriracha grilled cheese also make the menu. Try The Campflyer with a grilled chicken breast on Texas toast with chili-filled onion rings, barbecue sauce and American cheese or The Royal with Italian sausage, capocollo, lettuce, tomato and vinaigrette on a hoagie roll.

SUNRISE — Crepe Station (5051 Stewart Ave., 702-531-3324) delivers crepes  topped with Nutella, lechera, cream cheese, cinnamon apple, Hershey’s chocolate and more. Order them daly from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

SPRING VALLEY — Rotisserie Chicken (6375 S. Rainbow Blvd., 702-998-1412) serves quarter, half and whole chickens for $9.99 to $25.99. Sides include rice, black beans, mixed vegetables, coleslaw, potato salad and more. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

WESTSIDEFun Tacos (2330 S. Rainbow Blvd., 702-525-8226) wants guests to "eat a taco a day to keep the doctor away." The usual assortment of tacos, nachos and more make the 24-hour menu.

SOUTHWEST — Pho Saigon 8 debuts a third location at 6910 S. Rainbow Blvd. (702-629-6088). Order pho, spring rolls and more Vietnamese fare and get a free egg roll as part of the grand opening. The restaurant — open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight daily — originally opened in 2001.

CHINATOWNQQ Tea Plus (5150 Spring Mountain Road. 702-330-8066) serves up fresh teas such as jasmine green tea, Earl Grey black tea, fruit tea, Assam black tea and Oolong tea. The Starry Night comes in lemon, Calpico, milk and passion fruit and Sprite, all with artwork on top. Iced teas and milk teas also make an appearance on the menu. Head there daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

CHINATOWN — Tea of Joy (4240 Spring Mountain Road, 702-685-6519) brings bubble teas, juice drinks and smoothies. Try bulgogi fries, macarons, panna cotta and more while sitting on the patio. The restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

CENTENNIAL

— Cinnaholic debuted a second location at 7920 W. Tropical Pkwy. (702-248-0949) with its menu of vegan baked goods. Grab them Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

CHINATOWN — Chicken, mutton and vegetable biryani, tandoor grilled lamb chops, chicken tikka, kara dosa, curry pots and more India comfort foods make the menu at Indian Curry House (5115 Spring Mountain Road, 702-844-2100). The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 10:30 p.m. daily.

CHINATOWN — A new Korean restaurant, Tang Tang Tang (6000 Spring Mountain Road, 702-464-5177), serves up huge portions meant to share. A combination dish with oxtail, knee and brisket serves two to three people easily, while gamjatang and sooyuk also make the menu. The restaurant is open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight.

HENDERSONBoss’s Slow Smoked BBQ (2895 N. Green Valley Pkwy., Henderson; 702-683-6656) dishes out ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, hot links, chicken quarters and more from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

DOWNTOWN — Project BBQ Food Truck is now serving on the Fremont Street Experience between Mermaids and Glitter Gulch with a menu of Carolina-style smoked barbecue. Brisket, pulled pork and chicken all make an appearance. Each can come on an eight-inch French roll, topped with coleslaw. Homemade potato chips come with a beer and cheese sauce, Applewood smoked bacon and chives. Make it a Garbage Bowl by adding all the meats and coleslaw. Open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. 

EASTSIDEStarboard Tack, a new bar at 2601 Atlantic St. (702-684-5769), comes from bartenders Lyle Cervenka and Bryant Jane, formerly of Retroscena. Look for a menu of rum cocktails and Tiki drinks along with a menu of Thai mussels, oysters, chicken skewers and a Mongolian cheese steak sandwich. This place will soon be open 24/7.

SPRING VALLEY — Rotisserie chicken and shish kebobs make the menu at Krazy Chicken (9700 W. Tropicana Ave., 702-936-5900). Open daily from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

EASTSIDE —Caribbean jerk fare make an appearance at Big Jerk (1830 N. Martin Luther King Blvd., 702-427-5267). Jamaican fried chicken, oxtails, jumbo shrimp curry, king fish and barbecue ribs make the menu. Open Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

SOUTHWEST — YuXiang Korean Chinese Cuisine (7729 S. SPRING VALLEY — The food truck Fluff Ice now has a bricks-and-mortar home at 6825 W. Russell Road (702-722-6465). Fans describe it as "cotton candy." The restaurant is open from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

SOUTHEAST — A new deli brings a cavalcade of sandwiches. Crisp Sandwich Co. (5715 S. Pecos Road, 702-476-0110) uses Boars Head meats and cheeses on the hot and cold sandwiches. Try the Netflix & Chill with London broil, red wine shallots, blue cheese and horseradish; the Crispy Cowboy with a breaded chicken cutlet, bacon, buffalo mozzarella, ranch and barbecue sauce; or the Don Juan with honey dijon pork shoulder, ham, carmelized onions, Jarlsberg cheese and Russian dressing. All ring in at less than $10.49. The restaurant is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

HENDERSONSkimos Coffee Shop (1533 W. Sunset Road, 702-910-3659) uses Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. out of Washington state for its beans. As for the name, the comes from a type of Mexican smoothie made with ice, milk and flavor such as chocolate. Soon thee restaurant plans to feature pastries and wraps as well.

EASTSIDE — Nagano Sushi Grill (4161 S. Eastern Ave., 702-844-2739) serves dishes including spider rolls in the $10 range.

SOUTHWEST — The new Mediterranean restaurant Zikiz (8520 Blue Diamond Road, 702-680-4292) opens a second location near Mountains Edge featuring wraps, salads and bowls. The restaurant is open for dine in or carry out Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

SOUTHEAST — Right next to Zikiz, find the new Cupz (8520 Blue Diamond Road) with a menu of desserts, pastries, smoothies, coffees and ice cream.

NORTHEAST — Tacos Los Parados (400 N. Eastern Ave., 702-271-5190)only dishes out its homemade tortilla tacos from 5:30 a.m. to midnight Friday through Sunday.

SOUTHEASTBowlology (9555 S. Eastern Ave., 702-263-6733) puts its healthy ingredients in a bowl. Find vegan, organic, gluten-free, non-GMO and kosher dishes on the menu from Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is the fifth location in Las Vegas.

ANTHEM — Cannelloni, eggplant parmigiana, baked penne with meat sauce and capellini Andrea korimba are just some of the dishes on the Trattoria Italia menu (9905 S. Eastern Ave.; 702-492-0000). EASTSIDE — Vegetarians and vegans have a new spot to eat at Veggieat Xpress (3768 Maryland Pkwy., 702-278-1949) inside 99 Ranch. Try summer rolls, egg rolls, Singapore noodles, grilled tofu banh mi and hot and sour pho at this quick-serve restaurant that’s open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

SOUTHEAST — El Cachi Mexican Kitchen dishes out tacos, burritos, empanadas and tortas at (5030 Paradise Road, 702-998-9709). The Mexican restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday until 10 p.m.

WESTSIDE — Tivoli Village’s new Cork & Wine (330 S. Rampart Blvd., 702-823-2678) features an ever-changing list of wine, champagne and beer at a bar where guests can watch the floral designs as they’re made. Open from noon to 9 p.m. daily.

CHINATOWN — Head to Baan Thai Restaurant (5115 Spring Mountain Road, 702-912-4577) for duck curry, Thai sausages, shrimp tofu soup and more. Try the basil scent with sauteed basil leaves, bell peppers and onions in house garlic sauce. The restaurant opens daily at 11 a.m., staying open until 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, midnight Friday and Saturday and 10 p.m. on Sunday.

HENDERSON — Head to the Galleria at Sunset for Tom Yum Thai Kitchen (1300 W. Sunset Road, Henderson) for pad kra pao with Thai iced tea.

SOUTHEAST — PhilHouse sits inside the second Island Pacific Supermarket (467 E, Silverado Ranch Blvd.) with dishes including grilled seafood, crispy pata, crispy chicken skin, barbecue chicken and halo-halo — a smoothie-like drink with mixed fruit and a crushed ice base.

CHINATOWN — The newest Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown comes from Pho 90 (4355 Spring Mountain Road, 702-248-0698). The restaurant, open from 9:30 a.m. to midnight Monday through Wednesday and until 2 a.m. Thursday through Sunday. Try chicken banh mi, chicken pho or pho dac biet with flank steak, beef balls, tripe and tendon.

NORTHWEST — Try the all-you-can-eat sushi option for $25 at OMG Sushi (2351 N. Rainbow Blvd., 702-638-0641) that includes a dessert such as mochi or fried ice cream. Open from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

SPRING VALLEY — The former Norm’s Egg Cafe and converted into Norm’s Diner (3945 S. Durango Drive, 702-431-3447) with a menu of pancakes, omelets, scrambles and eggs Benedicts as well as spaghetti and meatballs, country-style pork chops and garlic roasted chicken for dinner. The restaurant is open Mondays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WESTSIDE — Ono’s Island BBQ (5740 W. Charleston Blvd., 702-431-0358) dishes out Hawaiian fare from a food truck parked in front of Good Timez Billiards from the same owner. Look for plate meals for less than $10 with curry, chili and barbecue chicken with sides of rice and mac and cheese. Open daily from 1 to 8 p.m.

SOUTHWEST — Asia Creamery (7460 S. Rainbow Blvd., 702-272-0212) brings low-fat novelty ice creams in flavors such as vanilla, chocolate and cookies and cream, as well as exotic tropical flavors such as ube-macapuno, mango, jack fruit, halo halo, avocado and more. Any of these can be turned into cakes, sundaes, malts or milkshakes. Open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

SOUTHWEST — Cafe Summer (7965 S. Rainbow Blvd., 702-826-3738) features teas and coffees as well as dishes such as taiyaki, fried fish filled with vanilla custard and strawberry ice cream, as well as fried tofu with a sweet plum sauce. Open noon to 1 a.m. daily.

SPRING VALLEYKarizma serves up dishes from Bangladesh at 4850 W. Flamingo Road (702-462-2478). Chef Rocky Boustani features Indian, French, Spanish, Italian and Greek influences as well. Open daily at 11 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. and until 2 a.m. Thursday through Sunday.

WESTSIDEImsiam Thai Restaurant & Noodle features an $8.95 lunch special at 4105 W. Sahara Ave. (702-362-3624). Each comes with a salad, potsticker, fried egg and one of their selected entrees. For dessert, try the coconut ice cream. Open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily

SPRING VALLEYOn Demand Sushiis now open at 9640 W. Tropicana Ave. (702-772-6092) with sushi for pick up and to go and uses custom sauces in the custom rolls. Keep in mind this restaurant is only open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

WESTSIDERetro Bleu Cafe serves up a combination of Hawaiian barbecue, burgers, hot dogs, tacos and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches at 6475 W. Charleston Blvd. (702-871-5043). Open 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays

SPRING VALLEY — The sushi burrito trend shows no signs of letting up in Las Vegas. Yoshi Burritos at 4165 S. Grand Canyon Drive (702-776-7622) lets guests choose from proteins such as spicy tuna, salmon and yellowtail and then add sauces including wasabi aioli and avocado cilantro as well as vegetables including cilantro, cucumber, red onion and seaweed salad. Open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

SOUTHEASTTown Square’s newest restaurant features breakfast, lunch and dinner. Coco Cafe (6569 Las Vegas Blvd. S., Suite 173) also has daily specials for $6.99. Open 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays.
