2,700 passengers stranded at various port in Visayas, Mindanao

At least 2,700 passengers have been stranded in three ports in Visayas and Mindanao as of Tuesday morning due to Tropical Storm Basyang.

A Super Radyo dzBB report said that according to the Philippine Coast Guard, said majority of the number or 963 passengers are stranded at the Dumaguete City port.

A total of 360 rolling cargoes and 56 vessels are also stranded at the port.

A total of 263 passengers, 41 rolling cargoes and eight vessels are also stranded at the Bredco Port in Bacolod City while 248 passengers, 37 rolling cargoes and eight more vessels are stranded at the Bucas Port in Mindanao.

The other remaining number of passengers are stranded at other ports in Visayas and Mindanao, where voyages were halted due to the tropical storm.

Weather bureau PAGASA said Basyang is expected to make landfall in Caraga region this morning.

Tropical cyclone warning signal number 2 has been hoisted in several areas in the Visayas and Mindanao including:

Signal number 1 is hoisted over several areas in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, including:
