Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Friday said President Rodrigo Duterte should refrain from diverting the issue by throwing insults at him, and instead just release his bank records.

On Thursday, Trillanes renewed his challenge for the President to release his bank records, as he cited documents in his possession proving his claim that Duterte has more than P2 billion in his bank accounts.

Trillanes also claimed Duterte's children, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, and Sebastian, as well as his common-in-law wife Honeylet Avencena, have millions in their bank accounts.

Duterte defended Avencena and his children saying they have the means to make money on their own.

In an video statement taken in Davao City, Duterte offered to resign immediately if Trillanes can prove his allegations.

Ikaw? Anong naiwan sa iyo? Hangin pati yabang. Tulisan ka sa totoo lang," Duterte said.

Meanwhile, Trillanes also called on the Office of the Ombudsman to immediately resolve the plunder case he filed against De Lima back in May 2016. —KG, GMA News
