The southwest monsoon will be affecting the western sections of northern and central Luzon on Wednesday, PAGASA reported in its 24-Hour Public Weather Forecast.

The Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Zambales, and Bataan will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the southwest monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

The state weather bureau warned that severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods and landslides.

The forecast wind speed for Luzon is moderate to strong moving southwest to west while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of the country will have moderate wind speed moving south to southwest while coastal waters will be moderate. — BAP, GMA News
