The Adamson Soaring Falcons clinched a Final Four berth for the third consecutive year after making a come-from-behind win against the UST Growling Tigers, 96-83, Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Falcons dominated the Tigers in the third quarter with a 31-point performance, making a 15-0 run after the halftime break to spark their come back. UST tried to stay close with Adamson in the final period but it was not enough, making 25 points against the Falcons' 26.

The Growling Tigers held a slim 40-39 lead at the end of the first half, with 30 of the points coming from the trio of CJ Cansino, Marvin Lee, and Renzo Subido who chipped in 10 each. Adamson ended the first quarter in its favor, 21-20, but UST had the upper hand in the second period, 20-18.

Adamson head coach Franz Pumaren emphasized that though making it to the Final Four is an achievement, it is still not their end goal. "We're happy reaching the Final Four. It is an achievement but we've been doing that for the last two years. Hopefully, we can improve our finish for this year," he said.

Sean Manganti led the Falcons with 22 points and seven rebounds. Simon Camacho and Jerrick Ahanmisi listed 15 and 13 markers respectively.

For UST, Renzo Subido topped the España-based squad with 21, while Marvin Lee had 18 points. Rookie sensation CJ Cansino registered 17 points and 12 rebounds despite being ushered out of the court briefly after a bad landing late in the fourth quarter.

Adamson is now at the second spot with nine wins and three losses, while UST slides to 5-7.

Both teams will be back in action on Saturday. Adamson faces UE, while the Tigers will try to improve their chances in the Final Four race against the UP Fighting Maroons.
