The southwest monsoon (Habagat) is affecting provinces in northern Luzon and in the Central Luzon region, state weather bureau PAGASA said on Sunday afternoon.

In its 4 p.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said that the Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, the Babuyan Group of Islands, Zambales, and Bataan will encounter monsoon rains that may cause floods and landslides.

The weather bureau added that the rest of Central Luzon and the Cagayan Valley region would experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will encounter partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers brought by localized thunderstorms which may also bring flooding and landslides, PAGASA said. — Anna Felicia Bajo/BM, GMA News
