The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is forecast to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Central Luzon, state weather bureau PAGASA said in its 4 p.m. bulletin on Saturday.

The same weather conditions will be experienced in the Cagayan Valley Region, Calabarzon, and Mindoro provinces.

Monsoon rains may also cause flooding and landslides due to scattered moderate to heavy rains in the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Zambales, and Bataan.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will generally have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms.

In an earlier advisory, PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Luis has further weakened as it approached the coast of Southeastern China. — Jessica Bartolome/MDM, GMA News
