The southwest monsoon will be affecting northern Luzon on Wednesday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Apayao, Batanes, and the Babuyan Group of Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms brought about by the southwest monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the state weather bureau is monitoring Severe Tropical Storm Jebi located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) or 3,485 kilometers east of central Luzon.

Jebi packs maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 120 kph moving westward at 20 kph. — BAP, GMA News
