A low-pressure area (LPA) may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday or Saturday, PAGASA said.

According to the state weather bureau's forecast on Sunday, the LPA being monitored was spotted 3,505 km east of Mindanao.

It may also develop into a tropical depression, PAGASA said, reminding the public to stay tuned for further updates.

Meanwhile, the tail-end of a cold front is affecting the eastern part of Mindanao.

Caraga, Davao Region, and SOCCSKSARGEN may experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

The Northeast Monsoon, on the other hand, will bring cloudy skies with light rain to Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain due to the Amihan. — Dona Magsino/BM, GMA News
