LPA may turn into tropical storm, to enter PAR next week
There is a possibility that the low pressure area (LPA) spotted east of Mindanao may turn into a tropical storm and enter the Philippine Area of responsibility (PAR) in the coming week, PAGASA said on Saturday.
The weather system was still outside the PAR as of Saturday evening, according to a weather report on GMA News' "24 Oras."
Its trough, however, continued to a affect Mindanao.
Luzon and the Visayas, on the other hand, continue to experience the effects of the northeast monsoon.
The latest forecast from Metra Weather said the Cagara and Davao regions may experience rainfall on Sunday morning.
Rains may also be expected over the rest of the Visayas in the afternoon.
Forecasters also see a chance of rain in parts of Mimaropa, Bicol region, Eastern Visayas, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley region, and Western Visayas. — Margaret Claire Layug/MDM, GMA News
