The low-pressure area (LPA) being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) may enter the country on Friday, as reported by GMA's resident meteorologist Nathaniel "Mang Tani" Cruz on "24 Oras."

PAGASA located the LPA 1,795 kilometers east of Mindanao. According to Mang Tani's forecast, it may develop into a tropical depression.

Metraweather's wind map showed that the LPA is heading towards the Caraga region and is expected to make landfall on Sunday.

It will traverse Caraga and Visayas this weekend, bringing rains in the areas.

Mang Tani said that rain gear may come in handy for those who will participate in the Sinulog Festival in Cebu and Ati-Atihan Festival in Aklan.

Mindanao, on the other hand, is also likely to experience heavy rains on Saturday. —LDF, GMA News
