LPA spotted east of Guiuan, eastern Samar

A Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 1,000 kilometers east of Guiuan, eastern Samar early Thursday morning, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon will be affecting extreme northern Luzon.

The state weather bureau continues to monitor Typhoon Jebi, which is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 3,030 kilometers east of northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour with gustiness of up to 170 kph and moving in the west northwest direction at 20 kph.

Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the southwest monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

Coastal weather conditions in the northern and western section of northern Luzon will be moderate to rough, slight to moderate for the rest of Luzon and slight to moderate in the Visayas and Mindanao. — BAP, GMA News
