A low pressure area (LPA) near Basco, Batanes will continue to bring rains in Luzon, according to PAGASA.

A GMA News 24 Oras Weekend report quoted PAGASA as saying in its latest weather bulletin that the LPA is forecast to become a tropical storm in the next one or two days.

Once a storm, the weather disturbance will be called Neneng.

The LPA, along with the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, is expected to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms in the Ilocos Region, Cordillera, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands.

The weather bureau also warned of flashflood and landslides in these areas.

There will also be a high chance of rain in Metro Manila in the next five days.

Heavy rains is also expected in Cordillera, Nueva Ecija, Davao and Soccsksargen on Sunday afternoon. — MDM, GMA News
