Two Low Pressure Areas (LPA) have been spotted within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) while the southwest monsoon will be affecting Luzon and Visayas, Weather Specialist Meno Mendoza of PAGASA reported early Friday morning.

One LPA, as of 3 a.m., is located 620 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes. The said LPA will not directly affect any part of the country and may move out of PAR in the next 24 hours.

The second LPA, which is 95 kilometers west northwest of Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro, together with the southwest monsoon will bring rains to most part of Luzon and some areas in the Visayas.

With these weather systems, Metro Manila and most of Luzon will have cloudy skies, scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Western Visayas will have cloudy skies and scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms while the weather will be clear with occasional rainshowers in other parts of the region due to isolated thunderstorms.

The entire Mindanao region will have clear weather but there is a possibility of isolated thunderstorms.

No gale warning is raised in the country. — BAP, GMA News
