Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may be expected over Mindanao as the Northeast Monsoon and the tail end of a cold front are affecting the region, PAGASA said on Saturday afternoon.

In a 24-hour weather forecast issued at 4 p.m., PAGASA advised affected residents in Mindanao to prepare for "possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains."

The Amihan is also affecting weather in Luzon and the Visayas.

PAGASA said the Visayas, along with Palawan, may experience light to moderate rains, whereas the rest of Luzon can expect cloudy skies with isolated rains. — Margaret Claire Layug/MDM, GMA News
