TVB actor Raymond Lam reportedly applied for December leave to get married, earlier this year.

His fiancee, Chinese model Carina Zhang, and his mother were photographed visiting a wedding boutique.

Lam’s fan-club celebration of his 40th birthday which falls on 8 December was cancelled.

The wedding, which was scheduled for 8 December is now postponed due to Hong Kong’s pro-democracy protests, Lam told reporters.

Celebrities like singers Jay Chou and Eason Chan also had postponements and cancellations of events.

39-year-old Lam is one of TVB’s most popular artists and is said to be TVB’s most eligible bachelor.

His fiance, 29-year-old Zhang, and Lam have dated more than a year.

Both Lam and Zhang filed for marriage in September.

Netizens have noted that his parents approve of Zhang because she is devoted to their son.

Zhang uploaded photos of her cooking for the busy actor during her Hong Kong visits.

Lam’s parents were not happy with his former girlfriend, Hong Kong actress Karena Ng, 26, whom Lam dated for five years.

It was speculated that Ng was eyeing his family’s wealth.

Zhang has already moved in to Lam’s luxurious apartment in Pok Fu La, which he bought four years ago for $SGD10.5 million according to the marriage registration document.

After the wedding, the couple may move to another place, with reports of her checking out a bigger unit in the ritzy Mid-Levels residential area with a price tag of more than $SGD17 million.

Born on 8 December 1979, Raymond Lam is a Hong Kong actor and singer with roles in TV dramas such as A Step into the Past, Moonlight Resonance, Highs and Lows and Line Walker. He was named King of Chok after his role in The Mysteries of Love.

Lam has performed some of the theme songs for the TV series he acted in, apart from his acting career. Lam signed on with EEG under its Music Plus Label in 2007, releasing his debut album, Finding Love in Memories on 23 November. One of the songs is a theme song for TVB’s The Drive of Life. /TISG
