Nicole Scherzinger says the fame game has left her lonely.

Singer and X Factor judge Nicole, 39, told of the sacrifices she makes in her personal life to keep her career on track.

And she hinted her two-year romance with tennis toyboy Grigor Dimitrov, 26, could be on the rocks.

Nicole said: “It’s hard, I’m not going to lie. It can be lonely. I’m always on the road, always by myself. I think anybody in this industry feels lonely.”

X Factor result LEAKED in contestant Talia Dean's emotional video to friends and family after Nicole Scherzinger's judges' houses

Nicole’s hectic schedule is said to have put a strain on her relationship.

She hinted at the crisis last month on the X Factor, telling her fellow judges: “I’m looking for a husband.”

She later flirted with contestant Brad Howard, ex-boyfriend of Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan .

Nicole’s love trouble comes almost three months after she and Grigor took a romantic break in Capri, Italy.

She previously dated Formula One idol Lewis Hamilton on and off for seven years before they split for good in 2015.

For last night’s X Factor, globetrotting Nicole was in South Africa to pick her final three contestants after flying her team to Johannesburg.

Tracy Leanne Jefford, Matt Linnen and Kevin Davy White all made it through to the live shows. Speaking from her judge’s house near the city, Nicole laid bare the struggles of juggling her career and love.

Cheryl gets fans excited for her X Factor return as she shares stunning selfie from the set

She admitted: “This has been a very transitional year for me – career-wise and personally. Anybody who’s successful in what they do is making sacrifices.

“It’s juggling and finding the balance. Timing is everything. I met a gentleman who is working out here – he says it gets lonely here because you can’t find a partner.

“You’re in the middle of the bush. You have to find somebody who works at the resort – or not.

“He’s sacrificing that for his job.

“There’s always a sacrifice to be made.”

Nicole has drafted in grime star Stormzy for her Judges’ House stage – and leapt to his defence over claims he was “selling out” being on the show.

She said: “He’s credible for me. I love that he’s not what people thought I’d have as a guest judge. I wanted someone relevant and current. It doesn’t take away his credibility. It’s showing another side of you.”

Nicole, who returned to the show last year after quitting in 2013, is the only judge not to have signed for next year. She said: “If I don’t come back it’s not because I don’t love it.

“It’s because I’m a singer first. Every artist needs that time out to reflect.”
