(Showbiz) Fans of K-actor Yoo Ah-in give back to mark their idol's birthday

KUALA LUMPUR: In honour of South Korean actor Yoo Ah-in’s 32nd birthday today, his fans had collected a large sum of money to be channeled towards the treatment of paediatric cancer.

The amount, totalling 10.06 million KRW (approximately RM37,300) which matches his birthdate, Oct 6, will go to Korea Childhood Leukaemia Foundation based in South Korea.

The donation is also to mark Yoo’s 10th anniversary in the entertainment scene.

Last June, Yoo was deemed unfit for military service following the results of his fifth medical examination which revealed that he suffered from various injuries including a bone tumour.

Yoo is known for the TV drama series Sungkyunkwan Scandal and Six Flying Dragons, and films Veteran and The Throne.

He is currently filming the South Korean mystery drama Burning, set for a 2018 release.
