Renee Zellweger is reportedly financially supporting her boyfriend Doyle Bramhall II during his divorce.

The Bridget Jones star is said to be paying the rocker's rent and his $5,000-a-month credit card bills.

Court documents involved in the Eric Clapton guitarist's divorce from estranged wife Susannah Melvoin have been obtained by E! News .

And they show that Renee, 48, has allowed Doyle, 48, to live with her for free - and she's been paying his credit cards bills that total between $4,000 to $5,000 a month.

The docs reveal that the total expenses for 2015 added up to nearly $60,000.

The arrangement between Renee and her boyfriend has been pulled into his divorce as Susannah filed the information last year - because she wanted it included when the judge figures out his owed child and spousal support.

But during a hearing the judge ruled that Renee's income should not have any bearing on what the musician pays to his estranged wife.

In 2014, Renee was first drawn into the court battle over claims she was struggling for money to allow her to care for their young daughters, India, now 15, and Elle, now 12.

In court papers, singer Susannah, who previously dated Prince, claimed both she and Doyle were $300,000 in debt when they split in 2010, two years before he began dating Renee.

Mirror Online has contacted Renee and Doyle's representatives for comment.

Renee and Doyle started dating in 2012 - two years after he separated from his wife.

They first met when the both attended the University of Texas in the early nineties and the former heroin addict has been a change in fortunes for the previously unlucky in love star.

After a string of high-profile failed relationships with the likes of Jim Carrey, Jack White and and Bradley Cooper, Doyle seems like the only man who can really make Renee really happy.

The movie star, who is worth an estimated £34million, has previous said of Doyle: “Isn’t he cute? He’s a very sweet man. I’m very, very happy right now.”

Having first gone into rehab aged 25 and with an acrimonious marriage split behind him, Doyle might not be quite the fairytale – but for Renee her idea of happy ending has changed over the decades.

Several years ago she had still been open about her dream for a family of her own, saying: “Deep down, I’m a Texas girl looking for that big romance every girl dreams about.

"Biologically, I look forward to being the cornerstone of a family. I’ll be in my glory when I have a child on my knee.”

For Renee, a former cheerleader born in Texas, learning to be happy in herself has been a long time coming.

Her first love, handsome bass player Sims Ellison, committed suicide in 1996, at the same time as her big break in Jerry Maguire opposite Tom Cruise.

They had been together for five years when they split up after she moved away from Texas to focus on her career.

At the same time the aspiring musician’s band was dropped by his record label.

According to his mum, Bonnie Ellison, 73, it was shortly after these events that he shot himself.

Relationship expert Dr Pam Spurr believes it would have overshadowed Renee’s love life forever.

She says: “One inescapable fact of suicide is those left behind do feel responsible even if ultimately it is not your responsibility.

She continued: “The devastating consequences of having someone you broke up with take their life are incalculable.

"That experience could have plunged her into finding it hard to have emotional intimacy – fearing that it could lead to further heartache.”

Renee dealt with her grief and carved out her career in Hollywood, but each time she thought she found love it came crashing down.

She met funny man Jim Carrey on the set of Me, Myself and Irene in 1999 . The pair split after a short-lived engagement.

He reportedly called it off because he wouldn’t set a date and she didn’t believe he could commit.

After being linked to Friends star Matthew Perry , she then fell hard for White Stripes singer Jack White – only for him to reportedly find it difficult to cope with the spotlight on her.

She was rumoured to date fellow actor George Clooney in 2003, before Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice.

In 2005, she blindsided the world when she announced she had married country music singer Kenny Chesney.

The marriage lasted the same amount of time they had known each other –just four months.

Afterwards, she insisted: “I’m still friends with him.”

Undeterred Renee threw herself into the celebrity merry-go-round again and fascination with her love life was at feverpitch.

She was linked to actors Luke Perry and John Krasinski, hotelier and Chiltern Firehouse owner André Balazs and was even spotted out to dinner with Paul McCartney.

Yet it was her romance with hunky filmstar Bradley Cooper which insiders said really broke her heart.

They set of the film Case 39 and started going out in 2009.

She soon moved in with him and his mother, and Renee missed the Golden Globes awards ceremony to be with him after his father died.

But, like Jim before him, he wouldn’t commit. After the split she stopped making films for three years and went underground.

Finally, in 2012, Renee and Doyle were introduced by friends and hit it off.

Renee has been cagey talking about the relationship but has said: “We have shared history, the same mutual friends from eons ago, before either of us was doing anything public.”

Doyle himself is well known in the music world.

He used to co-write with Eric Clapton before playing guitar for him, and working with the likes of Sheryl Crow, his ex before Renee.

But he also has been a recovering addict since he was 25 after a heroin addiction he described as “very crazy”.

Renee is smitten and has even credited him with helping her get over intense speculation about whether or not she has had cosmetic surgery on her face in 2014.

She said at at the time: “I’m glad folks think I look different! I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows,” she said at the time.
