The rounded cat eye has arrived

We love our cat eye makeup and now there’s an even more purr-fect cat eye shape to try.

That sexy winged eyeliner make-up has gotten a fresh makeover and we need to thank the talented makeup artists at Tom Ford and Jason Wu during their Spring Summer 2018 collection runway shows.

Instead of a straight-lined cat eye with that hard-to-execute flick at the end of your eye, the very adorable rounded cat eye simply removes all that anxiety of drawing that perfect wing, with a rounded edge.

The killer pointed cat eye makeup has always been associated with sex appeal and sophistication, but this new shape is just as sensual and loaded with a modernity that is equally edgy.

So, no more struggling with getting that perfect thin triangular flick! To create this look pick your favourite eyeshadow and apply midway on the upper eyelid and elongate towards your outer eye area.

Then use a small tight eyeliner brush to dab eyeshadow into a circular shape to complete the look. Stick eyeshadows or crayons have a better texture to help you paint a rounded shape.

You can wear this rounded cat eye look just as it is or like Lady Gaga, apply a lighter shimmery eyeshadow over the rounded cat eye makeup for contrast and added drama.

It’s a silhouette that will suit any eye shape and looks just as good on monolids or deep set eyes.

With this new trend, the cat eye has finally come full circle!
